Clean Air / Environment
Vehicle Idling
If a vehicle is parked in front of an air intake vent, the vehicle must be parked facing the air intake vent and the ignition must be turned off immediately.
Vehicles outside of a Campus Building that are idling within five (5) meters of a doorway, window that opens, or air intake, will be ticketed.
Environmental Sensitivities
People afflicted by environmental sensitivities suffer from intolerances to chemical or environmental factors, which are normally tolerated by most people. Reactions can be caused by scented hygiene products, cleaners, and air fresheners. For some people, breathing in these odours, even in the smallest amounts, can trigger a wide range of reactions.
What can you do?
Students and employees are encouraged to voluntarily cooperate in reducing the use of scented products while on campus. Be considerate to individuals who find it difficult to be around scented products, and use alternative unscented products where possible. Use less, or do not use at all when you are aware of a person(s) who have unfavorable reactions to scented products.
Individuals who have allergies or suffer from environmental sensitivities are encouraged to speak up and politely let it be known that scented products can trigger a reaction. If at any time a problem arises where there does not seem to be a resolution, contact the instructor or manager in your area.
