The Fred Speckeen Theatre
Shining the Spotlight on our New Theatre Stars
Northwestern Polytechnic and the Town of Fairview have been working collaboratively to identify facility management solutions that will be beneficial to both local residents and the campus community. Recently, a new arrangement has been confirmed that reflects NWP’s commitment to working with trusted partners to transition delivery of some specific community services and spaces within NWP.
From a user perspective, the most significant difference is that NWP staff and students will now be able to reserve the Theatre by calling the Town on (780) 835 2812.
About the Theatre
The Fred Speckeen Theatre opened its doors in 1991. It is named after Dr. Fred Speckeen, who served as the first president of Fairview College from 1978 to 1984. Located on our Fairview Campus, the Theatre has a seating capacity of 310 and is equipped with professional dimming, lighting, video/data and audio reinforcement equipment.
Along with holding the NWP Fairview Convocation every year, The Fred Speckeen Theatre has been the venue for many community-based functions put on by local theatre groups and agencies such as the Alberta Wheat Pool and the RCMP.
