Enterprise Risk Management

Northwestern Polytechnic is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and secure environment for all members of our learning community. The NWP Health, Safety and Environmental Program is based on current Provincial and Federal Regulations and Requirements. The Security Program sets out the parameters of an effective NWP security system across campus locations. The institution developed these programs to keep students, employees, contractors, visitors and the general public safe from injury, illness and/or financial loss.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) extends beyond these programs as a continuous, proactive and dynamic process designed to identify, manage and communicate potential risks and opportunities that might impact the achievement of NWP's academic and strategic goals. All NWP employees are responsible for managing risk as part of their daily responsibilities. NWP has implemented a formal program to guide the identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring and reporting of risks across the institution; this program includes established protocols for reporting legislative non-compliance incidents and steps to remediate instances of non-compliance.
