Certificate Programs
The one-year certificate program introduces students to basic business functions and serves as a foundation for all diploma programs. Diploma students major in their second year, choosing routes in Accounting, Accounting and Investment Management, Financial Services, Management, or Marketing. Graduates are well prepared to step directly into the workforce or to pursue additional education by applying to transfer credit towards university degrees at a number of different institutions across Alberta and British Columbia.

The Business Administration Post-Diploma Certificate is for students who have a post-secondary credential (a diploma or bachelor’s degree) and are looking for career-focused education and experience. This program is ideal for mature students interested in a new career as well as International students looking to enhance and focus their career-ready skills in an international setting.
All students will learn fundamental business concepts in legal relations and business communications. In addition to completing these core business courses, students will have the opportunity to customize their certificate based on their career goals by selecting business electives from various specialization areas, including financial planning, marketing, and human resources management.

Computer professionals need strong problem-solving capacities in addition to being observant, detail-oriented and tenacious in pursuing solutions. The Computer Systems Technology (CST) program offers opportunities to integrate extensive software development and hardware skills. Facilities include a circuit design and robotics lab, data communications and networking lab as well as six general access computer labs. Students choose between a one-year certificate or a two-year diploma. Students who complete the diploma may transfer into year three of a four-year degree at a number of different institutions in Alberta.

Early Learning and Child Care will prepare you for a career working with children ages 0-8 in addition to working with their families. A commitment to this rewarding profession will have long-term benefits to young children, their families, and the communities where they live and work. Certificate graduates qualify for certification as Child Development Workers through Alberta Children and Youth Services while diploma graduates qualify as Child Development Supervisors.

This program prepares graduates to work in educational settings under the direction of a teacher, providing support to students who require assistance in developmental, behavioural, and/or learning tasks. Graduates of the Educational Assistant program are prepared to work with children in the school system from Kindergarten to Grade 12, in both resource rooms and classrooms.
This program also offers the opportunity for those currently employed as Educational Assistants to continue working in the field while obtaining certification.

Through personalized advising and instruction, the CAFL program equips students with the essential knowledge and in-demand skills required by employers and opens doors to future educational and career pathways. Health Care Aides (HCA) play a vital role in the workforce, providing basic health services and support with daily living activities for clients who have medical conditions or major functional limitations. HCA’s work under the direct or indirect supervision of a regulated health professional, such as a nurse.

As a Motorcycle Mechanic, you repair and maintain many different brands and models of street, off-road, and dual sport bikes. This popular program gives you the required experience to land your first job. Our students receive training in motorcycle charging, starting and ignition systems, four-stroke tuning and top end diagnosis, inspection and reconditioning procedures, transmissions, crankshaft repair and more.
Graduates of this program may have the opportunity to challenge the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) exams for first and second year Motorcycle Mechanic.

Through theoretical and practical training, this program prepares students to enter into the Power Engineering field at the Fourth Class and Third Class levels. Industrial development continues to expand the responsibilities of Power Engineers. Alberta legislation requires employees assuming responsibilities in heating and power plants to be certified.

Diploma Programs
NWP’s Animal Health Technology program has a long-standing reputation for producing highly-skilled and capable graduates. The program features a working farm with a variety of large animals, and companion animals on-site, providing students with hands-on experience treating and caring for live patients of all sizes. Students also have the opportunity to spend time in veterinary clinics and related veterinary facilities in additiont to completing rotations in the on-site clinic and a six-week practicum at a facility within Canada. Graduates are eligible to write the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) in order to become registered as Veterinary Technologists in the province of Alberta.

Are you interested in physical fitness, fitness evaluation, the promotion of health and wellness, and leadership? The trend towards healthier lifestyles and recognizing the need for personalized fitness programs has created a growing demand for qualified and Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) certified personal trainers. Students will receive specialized training in one or more certifications, and be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience by completing a supervised practicum in this growing industry.

GPRC's Practical Nursing program prepares students to be registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Graduates of this program are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE). The program is approved by the Education Standards Advisory Committee with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).

Students gain advanced technical knowledge and hands-on skills from the perspective of a heavy equipment technician in order to service Caterpillar equipment. Graduates are equipped to work anywhere Finning has opportunities – more than 45 locations across Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories.
NWP is currently the only post-secondary institution in Canada to offer this unique, globally-recognized training. Throughout the program, students have the opportunity to challenge the Heavy Equipment Technician apprenticeship examinations and can achieve journeyperson status after the specified time-on-the-job requirements are met.

Explore visual arts through drawing, visual fundamentals, painting, sculpture and design. You will have access to various studios, a bright, well-equipped woodshop, welding equipment, a kiln, computer labs, as well as audio and video-editing suites. Students also have multiple exhibition opportunities at professional venues in the region.
A portfolio is not required for admission as our program offers a solid foundation for professional practice through lectures and hands-on learning. This diploma can transfer into a four-year degree at several distinguished art-focused institutions.
