Report a security incident

A contracted security provider offers security services to the Grande Prairie and Fairview Campuses. Their security mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for all students, contractors, staff and faculty, as well as the public who visit the campus.

You will see them walking the campus in their blue uniforms. If you have a question, need directions, ask a security guard. Security personnel are trained in First Aid.  

• Be familiar with your surroundings and be aware of where the closest exit is
• Always keep your personal belongings on you at all times. Do not leave personal belongings or information unattended, and
• Do not carry large amounts of cash while at NWP.

In Grande Prairie, call Security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In Fairview, call Security during the evenings, or call Facilities-Maintenance and Operations.

Security Phones

Security phones are located throughout NWP's Grande Prairie Campus, inside the buildings and out in the parking lots surrounding the buildings. The indoor phones are red, the outdoor phones are blue. Locate and be aware of the locations of these security phones. All calls are directed to Campus Security or to dispatch.

Currently, there are no security phones at the Fairview Campus, so it is important to become familiar with the current Fairview Campus security phone numbers.

While there are currently no security phones at our Fairview Campus, there are a number of public phones that can be used in case of an emergency. They can be found in the following locations:
