Building Blocks is a fully accredited, caring, progressive day care, focusing on high quality child care for
NWP students, staff and community families, located on the southeast corner of the NWP Grande Prairie
Campus. Our six bright, clean and well-equipped rooms, provide easy and convenient access for parents to
visit.
We have a well maintained and inviting facility, with a fully fenced private playground, and our
children enjoy fun outdoor play areas with plenty of equipment and grassy areas. Take a look at our photos and see for yourself.
Staffing
Every staff member at Building Blocks Day Care has, at minimum, an Assistant-level Child Care Staff
Qualification Certificate and are certified in First Aid.
We ensure all staff are able to learn and better their knowledge and skills through having a supervisor
present in each room for further guidance and providing opportunity to attend conferences, workshops, and
courses to keep current with new teachings.
Objectives
The On-Campus Day Care Society is a non-profit organization that facilitates the operation of a high quality,
developmentally appropriate child care programs for students, staff, faculty, and community members at NWP.
- To provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for children from the ages of 12 months to 5
years of age.
- To meet the individual child's developmental needs in the social, physical, lingual, intellectual,
creative and emotional areas.
Child Care
Building Blocks Day Care provides complete child care for 110 children in total, ranging from 12 months
to 5 years of age. Our spaces are divided up as follows:

Subsidy Amounts for Infants Until Before School
Subsidy amounts are applied beyond the Affordability Grant. Families will be required to apply for these additional savings, and fees will be provided directly to child care facilities.
