Fire Extinguishers
Pass describes the 4 steps to follow for the use of a fire extinguisher. The directions can be found on the fire extinguisher, however, knowing the steps beforehand can save valuable time in putting out a fire.

Fire Alarm
- Do not panic! Stay calm
- Shut down equipment and evacuate area
- Close doors and windows as you go but keep unlocked, leave lights on
- Wear shoes and bring your jacket in the cooler weather
- Do not use elevators
- Help people with physical disabilities get to the muster areas or rescue areas
- If smoke is encountered, stay low and close to the ground when leaving the building
- Walk – do not run. Exit building via nearest exit unless re-routed by an Evacuation Supervisor
- Go to the nearest muster point area. The incident is considered over when emergency services declare an “All Clear” at which time you may re-enter the building(s)
