Waitlist Information
Students are able to waitlist in any course, even if they are not eligible for the course. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of course requirements, as well as timetable conflicts. If a seat becomes available in the course, but there is a registration error, the student will not be able to register until the error is resolved. A student will have until the seat expiry date to resolve the error.
Students are only allowed to register/waitlist in one section of a given course. If a student has registered/waitlisted in more than one section of the same course, the student will be removed from a section without notice.
It is imperative that students who are waitlisted in a course monitor their email regularly. When a seat becomes available in a course, a student will be sent an email offering them the seat and they will have three days to accept. This time may be reduced as we approach the registration deadline for the semester in which the seat is being offered. The expiry date and time will be communicated in the email.
For the most part, students can accept through their myNWP account, but in some instances, students are not able to accept the seat this way. In these cases, students will need to contact Registration to accept the seat on their behalf. Students can do so by visiting Student Services in person or calling 780-539-2981.
There is a deadline to accept the seat, so students MUST take action before the seat expires. If a student does not accept the seat by the deadline, they will be removed from the waitlist. Students can add themselves back to the bottom of the waitlist if they choose. Students are not allowed to attend class while on the waitlist.
To ensure timely program completion, students are recommended to meet with an Academic Advisor.
