Registering for NWP Apprenticeship Training
The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board determines eligibility for apprenticeship training. Once you have applied through tradesecrets.ca and eligibility is confirmed, you can register and pay for apprenticeship training at NWP.
Register OnlineYou can also register in-person on either campus. Please note that payment is due at the time of enrolment, and we process applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants who successfully register will receive a confirmation email.
Register In-PersonFor in-person registration, please visit the Registrar's Office between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
2024/25 Tuition and Fees
If you are registering in-person, fees can be paid using American Express, Mastercard, Visa, cash, debit, or purchase order.
Apprentices are responsible for purchasing required textbooks and course supplies. Incidental fees may be assessed depending on the trade and are payable on the first day of class.
2025/25 Tuition and FeesAttendance/Orientation
New student orientation, the first day of classes, and all scheduled dates during an apprenticeship are mandatory. It is the apprentice's responsibility to inform NWP if they cannot attend the first class, and has until 2:00 p.m. on the second class day to contact the Registrar's Office via email at apprenticeship@nwpolytech.ca or by phone at 1-888-822-2250.
Failure to do so may result in removal from the class without a refund.
Refund Policy
NWP will only process a refund if an apprentice withdraws from training by the end of the business day (4:30 p.m. MST) before the first day of class. Tuition, program fees, MNIFs, and the Students' Association fee paid for the class are refundable less the $100 tuition deposit. Refunds are not automatically processed and must be requested by emailing apprenticeship@nwpolytech.ca with your full name, apprenticeship or NWP student ID number, and the class you have withdrawn from.
If classes have begun, refunds will not be processed.
Sponsorship
Apprentices who have sponsors or employers paying their fees must provide the Registrar's Office with the required documentation from their sponsor to confirm what is being covered as well as invoicing specifics.
The Apprenticeship Confirmation of Sponsorship (COS) must accompany the Registration Form for processing.
