In their second batch of home games this season, the Wolves Women's Volleyball split the weekend match-ups after a strong start. After squaring away their fourth win of the season against the Olds College Broncos in a five-set nailbiter on Friday, they fell to the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens on Saturday.
Lighting up the leaderboard with a total of 27 points over the weekend, third-year outside hitter Helaina Zehya was an offensive force with a combined 25 kills and two services aces, along with a Player of the Game nomination for her performance on Friday. These achievements have earned her the Rebelfit Nutrition Athlete of the Week nomination.
"Helaina was terminating balls for us all weekend and has comfortably stepped into the role of our P1 attacker," said head coach Kelly McGuire. "We are very excited to see her continue to grow in NWP colours."
