New Recruit Saffire Burke
Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2024-2025 NWP Wolves Women’s Soccer team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Catherine Ridgeway is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Meet Saffire Burke a multi-talented athlete from Grande Prairie, Alberta who is excited to join the Wolves Women’s Soccer team for the upcoming year.
Burke brings with her an impressive athletic resume, including participating in the 2023 Edmonton Topp ID Camp, the 2022 California Surf Select ID Camp, and the 2018 Alberta Summer games.
When asked why she chose NWP, Burke explained that attending NWP allows her to stay close to home and that Coach Catherine Ridgeway is a great coach.
In her rookie year, Burke is most excited to experience a new team dynamic. Joining the Wolfpack will provide Burke with the opportunity to learn and connect with new people.
Head Coach Catherine Ridgeway is excited to work with Burke, adding, “Saffire is a quick central player with a great shot. She will bring speed and scoring power to the midfield. We can’t wait to have her in a Wolves uniform in front of a home crowd.”
Welcome to the pack, Saffire.
