GPRC Wolves Women's Volleyball New Recruit, Layla Hingley.
Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2021-22 GPRC Wolves Women’s Volleyball team. GPRC is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the 5GPRC priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Lauren Hale-Miller is excited to add his first recruits to the roster.
First up, meet Layla Hingley.
Hailing from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Hingley is looking forward to coming to Grande Prairie and creating more positive memories on campus. “I chose GPRC because the campus is only a couple hours from family, and since I have a new sibling on the way that was a big motivator for me. I have always had good experiences on campus which made it easier to make the transition.”
Hingley is bringing a ton of great experience to the Wolves roster. In 2018, Hingley brought home two All-Star titles, while in 2019, she was honoured with the Heart and Hustle Award from the Dawson Creek Volleyball Club (DCVC). Also in 2019, Hingley brought home a bronze medal from provincial championships with her Dawson Creek Secondary School teammates.
In her upcoming rookie season, Hingley is looking forward to opportunity ahead. “I am looking forward to a new experience, playing and living in a whole new city. I am excited for a whole new set of teammates and for the opportunity to continue playing volleyball.”
Head Coach, Lauren Hale-Miller is thrilled to add Hingley to the roster. “I am excited to have Layla join our program this upcoming season. She comes from a strong volleyball program and understands the value of hard work and commitment. Layla will add a tremendous amount of versatility to our roster.”
Welcome to the pack, Layla.
