GPRC Wolves Women's Basketball New Recruit, Thalia Petke.
Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2021-22 GPRC Wolves Women’s Basketball team. GPRC is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the 5GPRC priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Bill Bradley is excited to add his first recruits to the roster.
Meet Thalia Petke.
Hailing from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Petke is looking forward to representing her home team. “Growing up in Grande Prairie, I’ve done Wolves camps and played on the club team since a young age. Now, I’m excited to take the next step in being a wolf, while taking a good school program.”
In 2019, Petke was a part of the City Final Championships with Charles Spencer High School. In the 2019 and 2020 season, she and her teammates placed second at the St. Joe’s Classic. Again in 2020, Petke took home a silver medal in ASAA Zones and earned the title of having the single game scoring record of 33 points.
In her upcoming rookie season, Petke is ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. “I am excited to get back to doing what I’m most passionate about. I am also excited for the new challenges and opportunities to better myself as an athlete and a person, in general.”
Head Coach, Bill Bradley is pleased to add Petke to his roster. “I am looking forward to working with Thalia, she has a skill set that will allow her to play and defend in a range of positions. I am always glad when top talent chose to continue their basketball career at Grande Prairie Regional College.”
Welcome to the pack, Thalia.
