Recruitment season continues for the 2020-21 GPRC Wolves Men’s Volleyball team. Head Coach Sam Tu’ivai adds another Alberta based recruit to the roster.
The newest recruit to join the team is Connor Deschene.
Hailing from Spruce Grove, Alberta, Deschene chose GPRC for the new experience it will provide. “I’m ready to start a new chapter in my life and enjoy the support of a community,” says Deschene.
Deschene has had an impressive career so far. His team, FOG Black, won the U15 Provincial and National Volleyball Championships in 2017. He followed those wins with a U16 bronze with Team Alberta in 2018. In 2019, he once again won both the Provincial and National Volleyball Championships with FOG Black. Deschene was also presented with a U17 Provincial All Star Award in 2019.
Meeting new people and learning from new leadership are what Deschene is looking forward to his rookie season. “I’m most excited about joining a new team and learning from a new coach,” says Deschene.
Head Coach, Sam Tu’ivai is thrilled to add Deschene to the roster. “Connor is a physical and well rounded volleyball athlete. Connor’s background and work ethic will bring a lot of energy and competitiveness to the team. The coaching staff is looking forward to working with Connor to kick start his academic and volleyball development. I would like to welcome Connor to the Wolves program and the Men’s Volleyball team.”
Welcome to the pack, Connor.
