News Archives: ACAC Rookie of the Year North Division - Manny Iloka, Men's Basketball

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Manny Iloka of the GPRC Wolves has been selected as the 2019-20 ACAC North Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year.
Manny entered his first season of ACAC play with the Wolves and was a key component in all 24 games of the season. Manny, standing at an impressive 6’8”, scored double digits in 15 of the 24 games. Manny averaged 12.5 points per game (PPG) and 8.9 rebounds per game (RPG) which secured him the 7th spot for total rebounds in the ACAC. Manny led the ACAC in blocks totaling 41 for this season. Manny is a versatile player, and his athleticism allows him to play above the rim. Manny finished second in scoring on the Wolves with 299 points, behind teammate and second year guard, Liam O’Hallahan (467 points).
“It was a pleasure to coach Manny this season. His growth and determination to get better each day was evident. Manny contributed from the start of the season, providing length in the post. Manny has grown tremendously from day one, and I can’t wait to see where he goes from here,” said Head Coach Evan Lloyd.
Manny is originally from Nigeria, immigrating to Canada in 2015. Manny moved to Grande Prairie from Vancouver, British Columbia and is currently finishing up his first year of the Business Administration program, with aspirations of a career that would allow him to travel the world.
“It’s been an awesome season of watching Manny bring his personality to the court,” said Athletics Manager Thomas Slifka. “The Wolves Athletic program is proud of Manny’s achievements and looks forward to where his next season will take him.”

This prestigious award was presented to Manny Iloka at the 2020 ACAC Men’s Basketball Championship Ceremony held on March 4 in Camrose, Alberta hosted by the University of Alberta – Augustana Vikings.
