Name: Taylor Hudak
Hometown: Fairview Alberta
High School: Grande Prairie Composite High School
At what age did you start playing your sport? What drew you to the game? I started running indoor track last year since I was on the running team, so I would say that I am still pretty new to the sport. I am more of a cross country runner but indoor track is a fantastic sport to keep us in shape for the cross country season.
What is your fondest memory of your sport? Being on the “B” team 4 by 400m relay last year. The first meet of the year our “B” team relay came second in the event with even beating our “A” team by 1 second. The second meet we had the speedy Stanley on our team who killed the last leg and almost held off the Lethbridge team. After last year’s season it has made me a proud “B” teamer.
Any pre or post-race rituals that you would be willing to share? How do you prepare? I don’t have very many pre-race rituals except I like to eat oatmeal in the morning and be well hydrated before my race. For post-race, I tend to eat cookies and bananas that they provide for the runners after the race.
What are your future goals? To finish my degree in Biological Science and continue to strive to be the best “B” teamer out there.
From Head Coach, Fabio Minozzo:
Any special game moments, stats you’d like to share? Taylor Hudak is a great kid and is highly motivated! He has been showing consistent improvement and he is able to sustain the planned pace with “watch” accuracy. He is promising.
What does this player bring to the dynamics of the team? The first word that come to my mind when I think about Taylor is ‘discipline. He is motivated, and highly disciplined. Even when he cannot make it to practice, he meticulously performs the workout on his own.
