The following is a statement from GPRC President and CEO Dr. Robert Murray following an incident on campus Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
- Grande Prairie RCMP were called to campus to assist GPRC in apprehending an individual who appeared to be on the Grande Prairie campus with a weapon.
- GPRC put its emergency response plan in place and students and employees on the Grande Prairie campus sheltered in place while RCMP conducted its search.
- The individual was apprehended by RCMP on campus. Classes and normal operations resumed once the individual was in RCMP custody.
- As the incident is now a police matter GPRC has no further details to release.
