Thursday, June 27th, 2019

Evan Lloyd will continue in his role as head coach of the GPRC Wolves Men's Basketball team for the 2019-2020 season.
Evan Lloyd has renewed his contract and will continue in his role as head coach of the GPRC Wolves Men’s Basketball team for the 2019-2020 season. Lloyd, who has been head coach of the team since 2017, looks forward to leading the Wolves through the next campaign. “I’m excited to keep growing as a coach,” he said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our team standards and establish a good winning culture.”
Hailing from Bezanson, Alberta and having lived in the Grande Prairie region ever since, Lloyd has 12 years’ professional coaching experience. He says coaching at this level is “something I’ve always dreamed of doing.” Before assuming the head coach role in 2017, Lloyd worked with GPRC’s basketball club as assistant coach on the men’s team in 2014 and then as club director the following year. He was drawn to Wolves athletics because of the strong community and potential for growth.
Lloyd has high playoff hopes for the coming season, but his immediate sights are on adjusting to the new roster and getting to know his players. Lloyd says he is eager to put his coaching experience to use on the court and to leading the team through another strong season.
GPRC Athletics Manager Thomas Slifka says Lloyd has been a great asset for the College. “We are excited that Evan will continue to lead our Men’s Basketball program. He is developing a consistent program that values academic, athletic, and citizen development,” said Slifka.
The 2019-2020 college basketball season kicks off in October.
