News Archives: More Local Recruits for Men's Soccer

GPRC Wolves Men and Women’s Soccer Head Coach, Chris Morgan has been busy over the last couple of months recruiting and welcoming new wolves to the wolf pack.
We are pleased to announce the signings to date to the Wolves Men’s Soccer program.
A talented group of athletes, hailing from all over the Peace Region have committed to joining the pack for the 2019-20 season. Head Coach Morgan is excited for the season ahead.

Grande Prairie local, Kyle Zwerzinski has been added to the roster. Kyle who has been a member of the Academy Soccer program in Grande Prairie since 2017 and who also assumed the role of Captain for U16 Team Alberta bringing home a bronze medal in the Indigenous Games, is bringing great experience to the pitch. He is excited to join the wolf pack and start his post-secondary journey at GPRC where he will be studying for his Bachelor of Science.
Finishing up at Charles Spencer High School this May, Kyle is looking forward to competing at the ACAC level and working hard to make playoffs in the 2019 season. Kyle states, “I chose GPRC because it’s my hometown College I get to represent and I have a good relationship already with Coach Morgan and the players on the team. It’s going to be an awesome learning environment.”
Head Coach Morgan is looking forward to having Kyle out on the pitch in the upcoming season. “Kyle is a great winger who possesses good vision and has good game understanding. He is an infectious player; always wanting the ball and looking to be involved. It’s always nice to recruit local talent and I’ve got the pleasure of watching Kyle develop his skills over the last few years at the Academy where I coach.”

Local athlete, Michael Authenac is looking forward to meeting the squad and representing GPRC‘s colours next season. “I’m excited to meet new people and travel with the team. GPRC is a great fit for me because I wanted to stay close to home.” Michael is looking forward to working with Head Coach Morgan more while working towards his Bachelor of Commerce.
A talented player hailing from Grande Prairie, Michael has quite the medal collection including bringing home gold with the 2016 U16 Tier I EIYSA (Edmonton Interdistrict Youth Soccer Association) and silver with his U17 Edmonton Scottish United Soccer Club in Provincials. Michael has also played major league indoor soccer in Edmonton for the last couple of years.
Head Coach, Chris Morgan is pleased that Michael is joining the squad. “Michael can play in a lot of different positions across the defence and in the midfield. He is strong, vocal, quick and a tenacious player who will add to our defensive unit. Michael has graduated from the Academy where I coach, and it’s always exciting when we get to add local talent to our roster.”

Local soccer player, Seth Ball will graduate from Charles Spencer High School this May. A graduate from the Academy where Head Coach, Chris Morgan coaches, Seth was a part of the U16 team in 2016 who brought home gold hardware. Seth is excited to join the wolf pack and start his Bachelor of Kinesiology at GPRC. “GPRC has fantastic coaching with their men’s soccer team as well as a great kinesiology program. I am looking forward to gaining experience in my sport and playing with a brand new team of skilled players.”
In catching up with Head Coach Chris Morgan, he said he was delighted to welcome Seth to the wolf pack. “We are looking forward to welcoming Seth to the program. He is a great athlete who is strong, quick and powerful. He can also play a variety of positions which will be a great asset to the Wolves. Seth has a great temperament and is a level-headed player.”

Alex Fowler, joining the Wolves roster from Fort St. John, B.C., is bringing a ton of skill and experience to the program. The Grande Prairie Soccer Academy graduate also competed in the 2015 British Columbia Summer Games gaining experience in a competitive and high-pressure environment.
Alex is planning on starting his Bachelor of Arts at GPRC and is looking forward to wearing the Wolves colours. “I feel like GPRC is a very good choice for my future both academically and athletically. I believe that Chris Morgan is an excellent coach that will provide me with the expertise I need to better my athletic future. I am very excited to be playing another season with some of my teammates from the Academy.”
Head Coach Morgan is also looking forward to having Alex join the Wolves on the pitch.
“It’s incredible to be able to recruit another graduate from the Academy here in Grande Prairie,” Morgan stated. “With so much local talent coming to the roster, it’s going to be a very exciting season ahead. I have known Alex since he was 14-years-old, so it’s been fantastic to see him develop into the strong player he is today. He continues to improve his game and be coachable. He has a good attitude towards the game and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the squad.”

Joining the squad as a hometown rookie, Kyle Pelé is excited to be a part of the exciting future of GPRC and the Wolves soccer program.
Kyle is bringing some awesome experience to the Wolves. He represented Team Alberta in Montreal, Quebec during the 2017 Canadian Francophone Games (or the JFC) as well as has been a long-time member of the Academy here in Grande Prairie where Head Coach Chris Morgan coaches.
Kyle is looking forward to starting his Bachelor of Education next year while he helps the Wolves grind and hustle to get to Provincials and grow as an athlete.
Head Coach Morgan is thrilled to be adding another talented local athlete to the Wolves roster. “Kyle is a player that I’ve got the privilege to watch learn and grow over the last three years at the Academy,” Morgan said. “He has a great work ethic and can also play in a number of positions on the pitch. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him this upcoming season.”

Joining the Wolves from Grande Prairie, Nathaniel Ezan is looking forward to being a part of the close-knit squad. “I chose GPRC because I wanted to stay close to home and it offers a good Engineering program. I think it’s also going to be awesome to experience playing with and training with a group of players that I can learn from and become a better athlete with.”
The soon-to-be Engineering major has competed in Provincial Championships and brought home the Tier 2 Provincial title in 2016 and trained with the Academy here in Grande Prairie for the past three years.
According to Head Coach Chris Morgan, Nathaniel has great skills and is a very versatile player. “I’m thrilled Nathaniel is continuing his soccer career with the Wolves. He’s a very strong player with the ability to move around and play multiple positions on the pitch.”
