The GPRC Wolves Women’s soccer team had a great win against Concordia University Thunder in their Home Opener on Saturday afternoon. A first half brace from Forward Chelsea Fitzgerald sent the Wolves on their way, but Concordia reduced the deficit midway through the second half. All Conference Athlete, Kennedy Hall capped a superb individual performance with a third goal to seal the win, giving her the Wolves Player of the Game.
On Sunday the women secured their second victory of the weekend amassing a 4 goal lead going into the second half thanks to Janai Martens, Kennedy Hall, Jordana Friesen and Shelby Henley. However, strong push back from the Thunder culminating in 3 goals saw the Wolves defense dig deep to maintain their lead. Rookie Forward Jordana Friesen was named Wolves Player of the Game.
The Wolves are on the road this weekend facing NAIT Ooks on Saturday in Edmonton and the Augustana Vikings in Camrose on Sunday.
