GPRC Wolves Athletics and GPRC Wolves Women's Soccer head coach Chris Morgan, are pleased to announce two new additions to the Women’s Soccer Program, this Fall.
Hailing from Fort St John, BC, Tanniesha Demers and Emily Mason, both graduates of North Peace Secondary School also play for the Fort St. John Northern Strikers Soccer Club, and have medalled at various competitions, including provincial championships for the Strikers.Morgan, who led the GPRC Wolves Women to the CCAA Women’s Nationals this season looks to add some new hardware to the trophy cabinet in 2017/18 commenting that “Tanniesha will add more quality to our strong offense in 2017. She has good game understanding and knows where the goal is. She has scored goals wherever she goes and has a terrific shot. Her awareness and decision making can only help us in our quest to attend Nationals again”.
The current captain of the North Peace Girls Soccer team, “Emily is defensively very strong and can play in multiple positions across the defensive line and in midfield. She is calm under pressure, strong in the tackle and reads offensive danger well” says Morgan.
Morgan hopes to have more local girls join the College program which he says will “add to an already strong team” adding that “we did not have a deep pool of players last season and hopefully we be better prepared this year”.
Francois Fournier, GPRC Wolves Athletic director is delighted with the acquisition of these two talented young women adding that “it is wonderful to see our College teams continue to develop and recruit local talent. This demonstrates the level of ability that exists in our region”
