More About Vaughn
As the Web Content Specialist for Northwestern Polytechnic, Vaughn is focused on user interaction and is dedicated to ensuring the institution's web content and design is intuitive and cohesive. Through his experiences navigating the process of researching and enrolling in post-secondary, he understands the need for a straightforward, engaging user process and strives to keep the website up-to-date by collaborating with departments to ensure content is displayed accurately and attractively. Vaughn is also an experienced graphic designer with a keen eye for branding, which compliments his ability to generate compelling web copy.
Working in post-secondary, especially at Northwestern Polytechnic, is enormously rewarding for Vaughn because of his strong connection to the institution. He started his educational journey with NWP through the departments of academic upgrading and kinesiology and health sciences, going on to the University of Alberta, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
Although his formal education is in health and fitness, Vaughn's true passion lies in all forms of design and marketing. Throughout his schooling, Vaughn worked as a marketing specialist with the athletics program at NWP. In that role, one of his key achievements was transforming the program's web presence, which sparked his obsession with user interaction through design.
Since taking on the web content specialist role at NWP, Vaughn successfully implemented a site-wide interface refresh to reflect the institution's new name and brand. He continues to raise NWP's online presence and is currently leading a re-platforming project to transform the main website with fresh content, a seamless user experience and responsive, polished design.
In his spare time, Vaughn enjoys running and is a proud NWP Wolves alumni, competing with the cross-country running and indoor track team for two seasons.
