More About Kirsten
Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Kirsten is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and maintains connection with The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta.
Kirsten has previous experience as an addiction therapist, an elementary/junior high school counsellor, and in the primary care setting working in a team-based persistent pain program. Kirsten offers no-nonsense counselling from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy lens, also utilizing interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to create an individualized treatment plan for each client. Kirsten is always working on increasing her skills and is currently working towards a Trauma Certificate through Wilfred Laurier University.
Kirsten’s main goal is to help every client feel heard, understood and empowered to move forward as the best version of themself.
