More About Anna

Anna Lapointe joined GPRC in 2012.  She completed her PhD in literature (Canadian literature and science fiction) at the University of Manitoba in 2011.  Before that, she lived in rural Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Quebec City, St John’s, South Korea, and Winnipeg.  She teaches literature and creative writing at GPRC and edits The Waggle magazine.

Writing as Annette Lapointe, Anna has published three acclaimed books of fiction: Stolen (2006), Whitetail Shooting Gallery (2012), and You Are Not Needed Now (2017).

Anna would like to acknowledge that she resides on Treaty 8 territory and would like to thank the Indigenous communities of this region for their care and stewardship of these lands since time immemorial. In addition, she is incredibly grateful to these communities for allowing her to be a visitor on their land.
