French Soirée

• Time: 6:00 p.m.
• Ticket Cost: $95.00 per person

The Soirée is a French cultural event, featuring a special French menu, but you don't need to speak French to attend. This is a celebration of French culture and of French education at Northwestern Polytechnic.

The event is hosted by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, where NWP's French programming is offered. This event is intended to be cost recovery with any leftover funds supporting the NWP French Club's events and activities on campus.

Our menu consists of:

Appetizer (Choice of One)

• Vol-au-vent (puff pastry) with escargot and mushroom ragout
• Warm goat cheese salad: baby spinach, strawberries and sliced peaches tossed in a honey raspberry dressing topped with warm goat cheese mixed with breadcrumbs

Entrée (Choice of One)

• Chicken and Apple Fricassee
• Piperade: a mixture of fresh sliced bell peppers, pearl onions, diced tomatoes with garlic and smokey paprika topped with grilled halloumi cheese

Dessert

• Caramelized poached pear

Alcohol is not included in the price but is available.

We are pleased to partner with Frontier Eatery and Seafood in bringing this experience to Grande Prairie.

About the French Club

Created in 2012, the French Club at NWP provides students with opportunities to experience French culture and practice conversation outside the classroom. All students are welcome to attend one of the movie screenings, crêpe lunches, or game events to improve their language skills and enjoy the French ambience.
