Description

This full-day course is for people with little or no operational experience and who would like to obtain the minimum required level of knowledge/skill needed to safely operate a forklift (class 1-6). This course complies with the CSA standard for training forklift operators. Included will be a demonstration and hands-on training portion. This will be followed by a proficiency demonstration and an Operator Performance Evaluation. A three-year Northwestern Polytechnic Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion*.

Forklift Operator Training receives 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in the Alberta Environment Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program.

The use of coveralls, or long sleeves and long pants during training is recommended.

*Upon successfully completing this course, students must produce a valid Alberta driver's license in order to obtain a Forklift Operator ticket. If a valid license cannot be produced, the course is considered informational only.
