Fall Delivery at GPRC
GPRC’s upcoming fall semester will be offered through a mixed delivery model. The health and safety of students, staff and faculty is GPRC’s main priority. The College is committed to mitigating risk and adhering to protocols, recommendations and guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Province of Alberta. Alberta's Colleges Establish Taskforce to Support COVID-19 Economic Recovery Efforts
Alberta’s 11 Comprehensive Community Colleges (CCC) have launched an Economic Recovery Taskforce to assist the work of local, provincial and federal governments, and industry, as they tackle the economic challenges faced as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
They have brought classrooms into homes across the province and recognize a need for upskilling and reskilling workers affected by the challenges to the province’s current economy.

GPRC Partners with Athabasca University to Improve Online Learning Experience
GPRC has partnered with Athabasca University (AU) to improve access to education opportunities for students in northern Alberta. GPRC will join AU’s online learning platform, moving current courses online and developing new online courses over the next few months.
The agreement will see GPRC students benefit from AU’s expertise in online education, and cloud-hosted learning management system to access online courses and class content. Read more about this partnership and the benefit to GPRC students here.

2019 CICan’s Paul and Gerri Charette Bursary Program Recipient
Mya Toerper is the first GPRC student to be awarded the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) Paul and Gerri Charette Bursary Program. This prestigious bursary awarded Toerper $2,500 per semester toward her studies in Psychology. Read Mya’s story here.

GPRC Alumni Adapt Parkour Business During COVID-19
GPRC alumni Chad McDonald and Zach Wiebe own and operate APE Parkour – Alternative Physical Education Inc. They have pivoted their model to online training and have delivered equipment to students at home to keep their business going and keep kids in the region active at home during the pandemic. GPRC Alumna Rocks Instructor Role
GPRC alumna Ashley Clayton returned to the College in September 2019 teaching guitar, bass and theory in the Conservatory. She graduated from GPRC with an Interactive Digital Design in Music diploma and is now considering pursuing a Bachelor of Education. ACAC Announces Plans for the 2020-2021 Athletic Season
As the province and Alberta’s colleges continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) has announced the fall 2020 sport season has been cancelled. GPRC supports the decision made by the ACAC to suspend athletics as our College continues to prioritize the health of our student athletes, coaches, administration and fans.
