GPRC Welcomes New President and CEO
Dr. Robert Murray is the ninth President and CEO of Grande Prairie Regional College. Starting December 2, Dr. Murray will bring leadership experience in professional and business advisory services, economic development, education and public policy to GPRC’s executive team. To showcase its programs, GPRC has combined the Science Open House, PEAK Student for a Day and Fine Arts Student for a Day event into one big Open House. GPRC Paves Way for Fresh Start
Dennis Shinski came to GPRC to turn his life around and became a community advocate for men's mental health. He shared his story with CBC as part of Digging in the Dirt, a documentary focusing on high rates of suicide among men working in the oil patch, industry and agriculture in northern Alberta. Governor General's Academic Medal Recipient
GPRC graduate Brooke Hart is the recipient of this year’s Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Academic Medal — one of the most prestigious awards a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive. The medal is only awarded to one student each year for achieving the highest overall grade point average upon graduation from a diploma-level or post-secondary program. GPRC Sends Four Singers to Alberta Youth Choir
Four GPRC singers added their voices to the Alberta Youth Choir on October 25. Brianna Strickland, Alyssa Thompson, Max Barrs, and Cameron Irwin performed in Calgary with the Choir alongside the Alberta Wind Symphony in the Music Conference Alberta Gala Concert in Mount Royal University’s Bella Concert Hall.

GPRC Alumna’s Art Display on Campus
GPRC alumna, Danielle Ribar has a stunning installation of art displayed on the second floor of B wing in the Cardinal Building. Ribar is currently the associate curator at The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, and manages the Travelling Art Exhibition Program for Northwest Alberta. Run for a Wolf Community Race
Registration is open for the Run for a Wolf Community Race taking place on November 9, 2019 at Muskoseepi Park. Proceeds from the race go to Wolves Athletics Scholarships to support GPRC’s athletic talent. Register for the race here.

GPRC Winter Concert Series
Wind Ensemble - November 29, 7:30pm in the Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre The theme of the Wind Ensemble concert is Music from Around the World featuring music from China, Russia, Germany, France, the United States and Canada and Christmas selections. Featured on the program are works by Shostakovich, Milhaud, Richard Wagner, Leroy Anderson, and local composer Mateo James.
Concert Choir - November 30, 7:30pm at St. Paul's United Church (10206-100 Avenue) This concert will feature music from Renaissance through to contemporary Canadian repertoire to celebrate the season. Central to our program is the Pergolesi Magnificat, and Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs with local violinist, Kathy Park.
Jazz Ensemble - December 2, 7:30pm in the Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre The Jazz Ensemble concert features Rosanne Artibise singing All I Want for Christmas is You. Other selections include: Lady Madonna, Get Smart Theme, Peg, Angels We Have Heard on High, Cherokee, Dreamsville, and Count Bubba's Revenge.
