Event Recognizes President's Contributions
GPRC’s longest-serving President and CEO has announced his plans to retire. The community has an array of ways to honour Don Gnatiuk, including a September farewell event. Mark On You – A Vital Tribute to Don Gnatiuk is a dinner and evening of celebration on Thursday, September 12 at the Pomeroy Hotel & Convention Centre. GPRC Wolves Welcomes New Coaches
Four full-time coaches have been added to the roster. We’d like to welcome Bill Bradley, Lauren Hale-Miller, Sam Tu’ivai and welcome back Evan Lloyd to the pack. The 2019-2020 season kicks off September 7. See the full home game schedule here.

Mind Over Metal Welding Camp
GPRC hosted the CWB Welding Foundation Mind Over Metal Welding camp on its Fairview campus. Level 1 ran from July 8 - 12 and Level 2 ran from July 15 - 19. Presented by Bird Construction, the camp was a huge success with 23 students learning skills and discovering opportunities in the welding trade. Check out photos from the week here.

GPRC Students Receive SINEWS Grant for Wildfire Management Research
GPRC students Andrea Rosenberger and Emma Doerkson received a grant from SINEWS (Sistering Indigenous and Western Science) to pursue research on Indigenous forest fire management practices. They hope this research will help municipalities in Alberta fight wildfires in the future. Read more about their research here.

GPRC Alumna Receives High Academic Honour
GPRC alumna Katie Boisvert has graduated with one of the highest academic honours. At her June convocation ceremony, Boisvert accepted the Governor General’s Silver Medal, an honour awarded annually to the three undergraduate students with the highest academic standing from any discipline at the University of Alberta. GPRC Alumna Teaches Fine Arts Summer Camp
GPRC alumna Meghan Edgerton will be teaching the GPRC Fine Arts 2019 Summer Camp “I Want to Be on Broadway” on July 22-26 for 7-9-year-olds and August 12-16 for 10-14-year-olds. The camp allows participants to sing, act, and learn choreography with a live performance for parents at the end of the week. Read more here.
