GPRC Welcomes New Vice-President Administration
After a competitive recruitment process, GPRC selected alumna Angela Logan, CPA CA, as Vice-President Administration. The position leads GPRC’s facilities, financial services and information technology departments, and Angela has held the interim position since May 2017. Read more about Angela here.

New Supports for Indigenous Students at GPRC
The Indigenous Peer Mentorship Program (IPMP) offers social and academic support to Indigenous students. The program builds on the existing supports on campus, including Elder in Residence, the Circle of Indigenous Students and the tutor program offered through the On-Campus Friendship Centre. New Business Work-Integrated Learning Opportunity
GPRC Business Administration students will be getting real world experience as part of the College’s new work placement opportunity. The program, designed by business instructor, Cibylla Rakestraw, is set to launch in the summer of 2018. As one of only two colleges in Alberta that provides a work-integrated learning option recognized by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education, GPRC will offer 12-week workforce placements between the student’s first and second year. GPRC Fairview Hosts Open House
GPRC Fairview invited the community on November 16, to celebrate the renovations of its Harvey McLachlan Arena, familiarly known as the Large Animal Lab.
The Open House event offered tours of the new facility followed by a reception. The new lab will enhance the student learning experience with state-of-the-art equipment and a setting true to real-life work environments. Read more about the event here.

GPRC High Performance Training Centre Opens
Thanks to both community and College support, GPRC recently renovated 1,700 square feet of space to meet the demands of the College’s Sport, Fitness and Wellness program, resulting in the opening of GPRC’s new High Performance Training Centre. The new facility houses equipment such as Olympic lifting stations, squat racks, power-lifting stations and other strength conditioning aids, meeting the needs of athletes on all levels, including the College’s high performance athletes. GPRC HEO Simulator
GPRC, in partnership with Keyano College, has been training students on a state-of-the-art heavy equipment simulator giving them the skills they need to enter in-demand careers in local industry. The Heavy Equipment Operator program is held in a 53-foot mobile unit from Keyano College. Learn more here.

Loretta Coates: Creating a Network of Success
Loretta Coates is a GPRC alumna who has worked hard for her success at MNP. She has recently been chosen for the CPA Alberta’s Early Achievement Award. Coates credits her success to her mentors at GPRC and the support of the successful people around her. Read Loretta’s story here.

Servus Credit Union Donates $50,000
Servus Credit Union recently gave a $50,000 donation in support of student awards at GPRC. Thanks to this donation, eligible students will have another possible bursary to apply for to lessen the burden of post-secondary education costs.
