Expanding Mental Health Professions

Making a Difference

Northwestern Polytechnic is honoured to be one of 12 post-secondary institutions across Alberta receiving a Mental Health Professions Enrolment Expansion grant from the Government of Alberta.

Announced on August 30, 2024, this funding will be used to develop new programming focused on mental health care and wellbeing.

More specifically, NWP is developing the following new degree and diploma programs:

• Psychiatric Nurse Diploma - coming 2025/2026
• Social Work Diploma - coming 2025/2026
• Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - coming 2026/2027
• Bachelor of Social Work - coming 2026/2027
