Three more familiar faces crossed the stage this past Convocation weekend, as GPRC celebrates the success of staff members, Kim Richardson, Christine Gurlitz and Teresa Skea doubling as graduates.
“Getting my degree means absolutely everything to me,” Kim says, “I have worked over the last 15 years, one course a semester, so, it’s a huge deal to be able to say ‘I finally finished.’”
Kim has been with GPRC for over 23 years and currently works as the Residence Manager. She graduated over the weekend with a Bachelor of Management degree offered at GPRC in collaboration with Athabasca University.
Christine Gurlitz has been working with GPRC in Student Services for the past nine years. This weekend she graduated with a Bachelor of Management degree.
“I’ve been working for this degree for the past 12 years part-time, while working full-time, so finally achieving it means everything to me,” Christine says.
Five and a half of the six years, Teresa Skea has been with GPRC as the Residence Administrative Assistant, she’s been working towards completing her Office Administration diploma.
“It’s very important to have a diploma with the economy and the way the world is today,” Teresa says, “Having job security but also having that sense of accomplishment is very important.”
Kim, Christine and Teresa, along with approximately 400 other graduating students were all honoured this past Saturday, May 7, 2016 for their accomplishments at GPRC’s 2016 Convocation. Congratulations to all.
