First year student athlete Mirelle Martens won a total of three ACAC medals (2 gold,
1 bronze) Oct 24, 25 & 26 in two different 2014 championships.
On Saturday, Martens completed a perfect ACAC XC running season, winning her fourth consecutive race, theRunning Room ACAC Championships in Fort Mc Murray. Marten's individual gold medal performance helped the GPRC women capture their first ACAC team championship since 2004.
On Sunday, Martens played a solid 90 minutes in the Wolves dramatic 1-0 victory over the Concordia University Thunder in the ACAC Women’s soccer
bronze medal game in Edmonton.
Martens also played the entire 120 minutes in the Wolves quarter final soccer match on Friday before flying to Fort MacMurray for cross-country running on Saturday. She scored on the first penalty kick in GPRC’s shoot out win over Red Deer College.
