New Recruit Yelena Jarema
Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2024-2025 NWP Wolves Women's Soccer team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Catherine Ridgeway is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Meet Yelena Jarema a multi-talented athlete from Edmonton, Alberta who is excited to join the Wolves Women's Soccer team for the upcoming year.
Jarema brings with her an impressive athletic resume, including winner Gold In the 2023 Indoor Provincials, Third In Top Goal Scorer In the 2023 Outdoor Provincials, and the 2018 Santo Saporito Leadership Award.
When asked why she chose NWP, Jarema explained that NWP allows her to play soccer at a more competitive level while preparing for a career she Is passionate about.
In her rookie year, Jarema is most excited about being a part of a post-secondary team where she will be learning from new coaches on and off the field.
Head Catherine Ridgeway is excited to work with Jarema, adding, “We're excited to add Yelena to next years roster, she will fill a key role on wing. Yelena will add a goal scoring threat from the outside, with her exceptional game sense and ability to read the play”.
