Thursday, August 18th, 2022
Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2022-23 NWP Wolves Women’s Volleyball team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Lauren Hale-Miller is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Say hello to Jessie Kurek.
Coming all the way from St. Paul, Alberta, Kurek brings several years of experience to the Wolves team. In 2021/2022 Kurek was named Regional High School Female Athlete of the Year. In the same year she was named Regional High School MVP. Fun fact about Jessie, she was named after the character of the same name from the movie Toy Story!
When asked, Kurek said that she is excited for the season ahead and to learn from her teammates. “I am most excited to meet and bond with my teammates, and to further my skills as a volleyball player.”
The choice to join the NWP community was easy for Kurek as she is looking forward to taking this opportunity to further her education and to continue to play the game she loves.
Head Coach, Lauren Hale-Miller is pleased to welcome Kurek to the team.
“We are excited to have Jessie join our program this fall,” said Hale-Miller. “Her athleticism and work ethic will be a tremendous addition to our program.”
Welcome to the pack, Jessie.
