Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Evan Lloyd is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Say hello to Kujtim Ujkani.
Coming all the way from Vushtrri, Kosovo, Ujkani enjoys the outdoors and in his free time can be found fishing, cycling, hiking, and snowboarding. He has said that he loves root beer, and his favourite Canadian food is poutine!
Ujkani brings several years of experience to the Wolves team, beginning in 2013 when he started playing for his hometown team. In 2018 he was part of the National U20 team and Ajdovscina Basketball Club. From 2017-2020 Ujkani played for the professional team Kerasan Prishtina. Most recently from 2021-2022, Ujkani played for the Cape Breton University.
Ujkani chose NWP as he seen coming here as an opportunity to grow as a player and contribute to the team with the athleticism and craft that he possesses. The academic opportunities at NWP also align with Ujkani’s goals.
“I have always been interested in studying the human body and the Kinesiology program at NWP is the perfect field to reach my academic goals,” said Ujkani. “Also, I feel like my skills are particularly well-suited for the 2/3 positions to make an impact in the Wolves’ organization.”
When asked what he is most excited about for his rookie season with the Wolves, Ujkani explained that he is looking forward to meeting the team and the coaching staff. He can’t wait to get out on the court with the whole squad and looks forward to putting in the effort during practices and preparing for the upcoming season.
Head Coach, Evan Lloyd is thrilled to add Ujkani to the team.
“Kujtim will bring experience playing at the Usport level and high levels in Europe,” said Lloyd. “We are excited to see what he will bring to this program with his length and athleticism. I think he will fit perfectly with our guys in the system and excel at both ends of the floor.”
Welcome to the pack, Kujtim.
