POSITION SUMMARY:
MasTec Canada is currently accepting resumes from Grande Prairie and surrounding areas, for a Fabrication Shop Pipefitter.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Journeyman Pipefitter Ticket or Active Apprenticeship
2 years of experience as a pipefitter
Understanding of welding fundamentals and fabrication processes
Experience with hydrotesting pressure piping
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out MasTec Canada’s 6 Core Values
Knowledge of pressure piping and structural fabrication processes
Must be comfortable with computers, sending and receiving emails, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, blue beam, spool fab programs or willing to learn in short order
Knowledge of telehandler, skid steer and loader operations and loading/off loading trailers
Ability to read and interpret piping/spool drawings and isometrics
Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs .
Good hand-eye coordination
Valid Safety tickets (First Aid, H2S Alive, CSO)
Ability to identify and report hazards
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules
Work as a team in a face paced team environment
