Friday, June 24th, 2022
Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) and Pipestone Energy Corp. today announced two new scholarships dedicated to helping students in their first year of post-secondary studies.
“Pipestone Energy Corp. is committed to supporting long term value within our communities through enduring connections,” says Chris Soby, Director Land & Stakeholder Relations. “These scholarships have been established to encourage the continued development and success of the next generation of professionals in Northwestern Alberta.”
The Pipestone Entrance Scholarships are geared towards applicants who are looking to start their post-secondary journey. There are two distinct opportunities for prospective students including full-ride entrance scholarships for the following:
- First year of any Northwestern Polytechnic Credit Program for an Indigenous student
- First year Bachelor of Engineering.
The initiative is timely with the institution once again offering the first year of a Bachelor of Engineering degree to students commencing in Fall 2022. This university transfer program was announced in the spring alongside other expanded program offerings.
“We are grateful for our wonderful learning community’s generosity,” said Cherene Griffiths, Vice-President External Relations. “With the help of our donors, we are continuing to increase accessibility to important local programming and smoothing the pathway to career success.”
With registration for Fall 2022 currently open, there has never been a better time to get started. In addition to the new Pipestone Energy Corp. Entrance Scholarships, NWP has more than 230 scholarships and bursaries designed to support students in their academic pursuits.
