Bachelor of Social Work, University Transfer
Fulfill Your Pursuit of Social Justice
A degree in Social Work equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for generalist social work practice in several diverse settings, including schools, hospitals, treatment facilities, corrections, planning councils, family and youth service agencies, and long-term care centres. Social workers are licensed by the Alberta College of Social Workers.
Students can attend NWP for their first two years of study before applying to the University of Calgary for the remainder of the program. Students will apply to the Online BSW program at the University of Calgary.
Courses in the Online BSW are offered entirely online and there is no requirement to come to campus. Online courses are a combination of scheduled real time classes (Mon. & Wed. evenings | Sat. mornings) and independent learning that can be done on your own schedule. Students attend classes all year round, including Spring & Summer terms. The University of Calgary will support students in finding a field practicum in their home community.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements set by the department. This program is highly competitive, so we suggest you apply early.
