Frequently Asked Questions about Student Residence
Each residence apartment contains furnished bedrooms, kitchens, living areas* and full bathrooms. Utilities, and wifi are included in the rental/fee structure. All residents can rent their own private phone lines if they wish. Coin laundry facilities are provided.
*Family Units ONLY - living room furniture is not provided. Residents are required to bring their own couch/love seat and coffee table.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid InformationStudent loan applications are usually accepted at the beginning of June. Please consult your provincial student Financial Aid Website for specific details.
All Residence students who are receiving a student loan or funding of any kind are expected to pay a minimum of $630 by the rent deadline. Along with this payment, a copy of your loan approval MUST be provided.
Alberta Loan Approval Form Example British Columbia Loan Approval Form ExampleFailure to provide documentation or payment by the rent deadline will result in a late payment fee of $50 per semester. A late payment fee will be assessed to all student accounts that are not paid in full by the rent deadline.
- For the academic year, rent is collected on August 1 and December 1.
- For Family Housing, rent is collected on a monthly basis.
All applications must be accompanied by a security deposit. The deposit is $200 for new residents and $50 for returning residents who have a deposit on file. Applications will not be processed until the deposit is paid.
Family housing securitydeposits are $400 but are not required at the time of application due to the limited availability of units.

You can apply to live in Residence any time of the year. Applications for the next Fall/Winter semester that are received before March 31st are randomly drawn and the rooms are assigned after that time. Applications received after March 31st are added on in the order they are received.
Our summer residence term is offered from May 1 - mid-August, and is open to students, workers, and the general public wishing to stay in our community. Full-time students returning for the following academic term, will not need to vacate in mid-August.
All of our units are 4-person townhomes so anybody interested in staying with us, must expect to live with other people. If you are currently living in Residence and wish to stay from May - August, you must apply for that time period. All summer applications must be accompanied with a $200 deposit for new applicants and $25 for students remaining in Residence for the Spring/Summer terms.
