Message from Dr. Kowalchuk
I am excited to join the NWP community and contribute to the good things that are happening. I look forward to meeting the staff, and students and getting to know what is so special about NWP. I am also excited to be moving further north. As an avid outdoorsman, the north of the country has always been a special place for me. Having a background in wildlife biology, the northern part of the province offers an opportunity to explore all the natural spaces it has to offer.
I look forward to making connections with the people and the communities. As someone who enjoys the outdoors, I am especially looking forward to hiking, fishing and, camping and making new friends along the way.
My wife who is a teacher is also looking forward to the adventures of the north. In time, she and our Black Lab Kape will be joining me in Grande Prairie. Our daughter Leigh will come and visit between her studies at the University of Victoria.
